Saturday, October 3, is RANGE DAY, but not just any Range Day. This Range Day is special in that the proceeds are going to fund veterans programs at the Mission Viejo Elks Lodge. We will also have modified hours of operation. The range will be open at 9am and run until 3pm. All the other rules and conditions apply; see below.
For those who usually meet at Concourse Park in Portola Hills, that will not happen this time. Please come directly to the range at Maywood Gun Club.
Veterans Range Day - All are welcome!

Maywood Rod & Gun Club, 24510 Maywood Club Road, Perris, CA 92570
Range Day is open to all Legionnaires, Scouts, and their family and friends
Meet us at Maywood about 0845. Shooting is generally from 9:00 - 3:00. Please arrange for your own transportation; carpooling is highly recommended.
Uniform: Weather can be extreme at this range, plan appropriately - shirt, pants or shorts, sturdy shoes, hat, eye and ear protection (we have them if you don't). Do not wear sandals or your BSA Class A shirts. Troop shirts are fine.
We have bathrooms, water, and picnic tables for your convenience. Bring your own lunch, drinks, and sun block: Be prepared for extreme weather.
For anyone under 18 without a parent present, a signed permission slip is mandatory. Children under 11 are allowed only with their parent present. This is NOT a BSA event, except for those working on Merit Badges; all Boy Scouts of America rules apply in those circumstances.
Cost is $40 for shooters - It includes firearms, ammunition, and targets. Non-shooters = $0. Bring a check made out to American Legion Post 862 (NO CASH) the day of the event. You may bring your own firearms and ammunition. However, if you use any of the American Legion's equipment we ask that you pay the $40 fee to help us cover supplies and maintenance expenses. Thank you.
BSA/NRA Rangemasters: Thom Spratt, Larry O'Connor, Craig Dickens, Steve Nightengale, Preston Cartagena, Greg Triffet
This event is made possible by the generous grants from the NRA Foundation and the Mission Viejo Elks Lodge!
